Just a quick note to say ‘thanks.’ I had no idea there was so much to know about buying a condo. I could have made a serious mistake without your guidance. Thanks for taking care of me."
Billing itself as Halifax’s first “true” north end lofts, Q Lofts is also one of the most energy-efficient large-scale condo buildings in North America. Every element of the design and construction was crafted with an emphasis on minimizing environmental impacts, with the goal of limiting the building’s carbon footprint and keeping energy costs low.
North-End Halifax is in the midst of a gentrification boom, with numerous new shops, businesses, and condominium developments opening in recent years, and many more currently under construction or in the planning stages. Theatre Lofts, a four-storey condominium development consisting of 43 loft-style units that was completed in 2011, has proven to be a harbinger of sorts of the changes taking place in this long neglected section of Halifax.
The Halifax condo market is booming, but the biggest part of the boom can probably be found in the city’s north end, especially the portion that abuts the downtown area. Among new condo developments in this area are Falkland Street Condos, Theatre Lofts, The Brickyard, and Spice Condos.
Long known as a “working class” neighbourhood that had to be rebuilt after the 1917 Halifax Explosion, the Hydrostone neighbourhood is now known as a “trendy” place to live in the city. Old houses are being renovated and restored, new townhouses are being built, and boutique-style shops and restaurants continue to set up shop.
Condominium development is also surging in the area, with Hydrostone Place being the most notable condo development. So notable that units are hard to come by.
