New Halifax Condo Unit Offers Space, Waterfront

—March 31, 2017
Size, or lack thereof, is perhaps one of the biggest complaints people have about condos. And while micro-condos might be all the rage in Toronto, the trend hasn’t really taken hold in Halifax, and your average Haligonian condo resident would probably love a bit more space.

Well, kids, pull out your check books and start bidding because what will become one of Halifax’s largest condo units is now on the market. Of course, being among the largest, also means that it will be one of the city’s most expensive, too…especially given its prime waterfront location.

For a mere $3.5 million—better buy some lottery tickets—the entire sixth floor of Bishop’s Landing’s condo building on 1479 Lower Water Street can be yours to renovate into a 4,200-square-foot penthouse unit with 360-degree views of the city and harbour. The new condo unit will feature three terraces and three balconies totalling over 1,000 square feet, and comes with four parking spaces and all other Bishop’s Landing amenities. Buyers of this new penthouse space will be able to customize and design their perfect living area and layout and create what could become the most luxurious condo unit in the Halifax area.

As it currently stands, this proposed Bishop’s Landing condo unit represents the most expensive condo currently on the market in Halifax, far surpassing the $1,999,000 being asked for a penthouse unit in the Trillium, and the $1,950,000 asking price for a penthouse unit in Dartmouth’s King’s Wharf development.

Of course, at more than 4,000 square feet, the Bishop’s Landing unit also currently represents the largest condo unit on the market, beating out the above-mentioned competitors by a respective 1,200 square feet. And from what we can tell, the proposed Bishop’s Landing condo also represents the ninth most expensive home currently on the market in Nova Scotia.
